The History of the West Bengal

The name of Bengal is derived from the earlier province of Vanga or Banga.  The confirmation of the agreement has been introduced in West Bengal: 42,000 in those days. The existence of the population centres of that century has been explored in Ayodhya Hills, Purulia, West Bengal. Around 2000 BC, civilian life gave rise to population centres on the banks of the Damodar and Ajay rivers, which were comparable to the Harappan and Mohenjo-v Daro Civilisations. The Southern part of West Bengal showcased the existence of the Vanga Empire around 1100-350 BC, which was modern with the Vedic lifestyle in northern India. Among the Mahajanpadas, Magadha became influential around 350 BC. During that time, the leaders of the Nanda kingdom of Magadha incorporated the area of West Bengal into their organisation. After the Nanda Empire, West Bengal was under the authority of Magadha, a pivotal organisation. In West Bengal, Tamralipta was the main canal of the Magadha-focused Maurya Empire. The majority of West Bengal’s area was governed under the Gupta Dynasty, which expanded in northern India, after Magadha's organisation had crumbled. In Bengal, the Gaur Empire was set up in 690 AD, which expanded across West Bengal and present-day Bangladesh. Gaur is often referred to as the first constructed powerful federation in Bengal. At a later date, the Pala Empire in 750 AD and the Sena Empire in 1070 AD emerged across West Bengal. Pala Empire and the Sena Empire were mostly focused on Bengal. The victory of Islam was set up in West Bengal before the 13th century. At that time, Bengal, including West Bengal, was added to the Ghaznavid Empire. West Bengal was dominated by the Delhi Sultanate from the 13th to the 14th century and by the Bengal Sultanate during the 14th and 16th centuries. During the 16th century, after the Bengal Sultanate had collapsed, West Bengal became dominated by the Mughal Empire. In West Bengal, Murshidabad was the focus of the individualistic Nawabs of Bengal during the years 1717-1765. In 1765, the British took over the power of Bengal, involving West Bengal, from the Nawabs of Bengal. The Bengal Presidency of the British indian Empire was separated into two parts: West Bengal and East Bengal in August 1947, and West Bengal was part of the Dominion of India, which achieved freedom as an Indian state. India’s next and  Bengal’s initial train line was situated in the middle of Howrah and Hooghly in West Bengal. In 1854, the train service began between the Howrah and Hooghly train lines in West Bengal. The first academic institute in India and West Bengal during British control was started in West Bengal in 1857 as the University of Calcutta.

The Story of West Bengal after India became free from British rule

On 15th August 1947, India became free from the British. Bengal was separated into the spiritual lineage in the East-West parts, where West Bengal became part of India and East Bengal became part of East Pakistan, which later formed the country of Bangladesh.

Monarchical State Combined with West Bengal

In 1950, the monarchical state of Koch Bihar was combined with West Bengal after the King Jagadippendra Narayan had legalised the Instrument of Accession with India. In 1955, the earlier French district of Chandannagar was handed over to Indian jurisdiction post-1950 incorporation in West Bengal. During that time, Bidhan Chandra Roy of the Congress party became the Chief Minister of Bengal. When Bidhan Chandra Roy was the Chief Minister of West Bengal, very few textile mills were established.
